New Englanders know a thing or two about landing a hole-in-one while taking in the view.
I receive several emails a day asking for recommendations on just about everything such as, where to purchase a home in New England, where to take a boyfriend golfing, and lighthouses to visit on a date. So, when a reader inquired about a picture-worthy golf course – I knew it was time to explore some greens.
Before heading out, I knew I had to look the part. So, I headed straight for Lilly Pulitzer’s new golf collection!
I couldn’t resist the Tee It Up Golf Bag. The fun bag stood out on the course and garnered compliments from both ladies and gents. I wanted a monochromatic look for the day that I knew I’d be comfortable in. I chose an all-blue outfit by pairing a Lilly Pulitzer polo top tucked into a patterned golf skort. New England weather can be inconsistent so I packed Lilly’s Tee Time Popover – which came in handy when it started pouring as we approached the last hole.
Once I looked the part, Matt and I ventured out to play golf, capture content, and enjoy a seaside breeze.
Now, we’re reporting back and sharing with you 5 Putting Greens With Cedar-Shingled Views you’ll want to visit this summer
Spotted on this renowened golf course – former presidents Bill Clinton and Barack Obama. Golfers take in views of Martha’s Vineyard’s naturally diverse vegetation while also getting a glimmer at New England’s coastline. While on the pricer side, Farm Neck Golf Club is open to the public!
From gorgeous cedar-shingled homes to holes lining the shore, you’ll be taken aback almost instantly with the views in my favorite seaside town! In fact, the pictures you see in this post were taken on Fenwick Golf Course. From friendly golf rangers to sailboats sailing past lighthouses in the distant, nothing is more quintessential New England then this course. Yes, it’s open to the public!
While Eastward Ho! Country Club is a private establishment, I had to include it on my list for those interested in a golf course wedding. With stunning seaside views and a Cape Cod cedar-shingled clubhouse, I first stumbled upon this country club and course when I saw a gorgeous wedding hosted at Eastward Ho! on Instagram.
We can’t leave Nantucket off the list! Miacomet Golf Course is on my list of places to visit. Matt and I recently took a trip to Nantucket and shared our ultimate guide to summering in Nantucket with you. But, while we didn’t have a chance to play at Miacomet just yet, we have been told by locals and visitors alike the course is the best public green Nantucket has to offer!
Right outside Portsmouth New Hampshire lies Wentworth By The Sea Country Club. This course rounds out our list thanks to its stunning water views and gorgeous cedar-shingled homes. While this course is private, it would make the perfect place for a destination wedding. Plus, the stunning Wentworth By The Sea five-star hotel (link hotel) is just up the street from the course.
