Red Fleece Dress || Earrings || Shoes || Matt’s Jacket || Matt’s Sweater || Matt’s Pants
Last weekend Matt, my parents and I headed out to the gardens in Dallas. It was slightly raining and crazy humid, which resulted in the worst hair frizz, no joke.
So I tried that new slick pulled back hair look, the jury was split on whether we liked it or not, but I figured I would keep it for the pictures because 1) something different & 2) the humidity would have had my hair going everywhere.
Anyway, I don’t know why I brought that up, but I felt like you all needed context in terms of the new hairdo. Okay, let’s jump into this post.
Matt & I were so glad to have my parents in town. It’s great having them around because honestly, New Englanders are our favorite people. They just are.
Whenever my parents are in town it’s constantly: go, go, go. We are flying by the seat of our pants, running around, while talking very loudly at each, and basically impatiently waiting for everything.
It’s the New England way, go, grab, hustle.
I was actually telling my friend, who’s from Boston and currently in Dallas, that no one beats a fellow New Englander. He obviously agreed and we ended up having a twenty-minute conversation on the matter. I’m honestly drawn to that New England personality, which is funny because some parts of the country would say we are rude, but their loss.
So let’s jump into 7 Reasons New Englanders Are Our Favorite…
1) We Hustle
No one get’s stuff done like a New Englander. It’s true, I think it’s part in fact, that we make decisions quickly and just move on from projects. One and Done in New England.
2) We Know Sports
Whether you are a guy or a gal, chances are you are aware of what’s going on in sports. Between the Patriots, Red Sox and Bruins something is going on and New Englanders know what’s up.
3) We Are Candid
Either you like this about us or you don’t but we tell it how it is. This 100% has gotten me in trouble both in San Diego and in Dallas, but we just don’t do passive well. I find New Englanders often being the first people to step up and say how it is, good or bad.
4) We Embrace Style
The Beach boys said it best: ‘Well East coast girls are hip
I really dig those styles they wear”. Obviously, East Coast style is my favorite, I love how stately and vintage it all feels. We by far have the best-dressed men and gals, I just LOVE the classic New England style and it always boosts my confidence. Needless to say, my closet is stocked with white, blue, and straw bags.
5) We Love Road Trips
I love how New Englanders LOVE road trips! We aren’t afraid to drive an hour to our favorite lobster roll shack or even two=three hours to the next state, just cuz. We are get up and go type people, and I love it.
6) We Embrace Coastal Living from June till July
Somehow New Englanders always find their way to the coast. It’s like a right of passage and I love it. Whether you are reading by a river, lake or sea we all embrace coastal living. & the majority of us know how to tie a boat up to a cleat hitch.
7) We Adapt
Here’s the thing, if you live in New England you learn to adapt, thanks to the seasons. They come and go, but the seasons keep us on our toes and leave us with the job of adapting. We don’t think, we just make it work and that’s my favorite part.
So that’s that. I know Matt & I will be moving back to New England full time soon but distance makes the heart grow fonder right! Anyway, I’d love to hear why you all love fellow New Englanders below.
Also how cute is this dress & Matt’s sweater, our outfits just screamed New England to me and actually inspired this post! Happy Monday guys, xx Aubrey.
