Spring has sprung here in New England!

It’s time to swap out snow boots for rain boots. As current temps reach the high-40s, us New Englanders are eager to put our entire winter wardrobe aside. Whether you’re a New England transplant, or grew up here like me, spring can bring a rollercoaster of wardrobe woes. For example, a few years back it snowed on Easter. This year’s holiday is projected to be in the mid-60s!

If you’re feeling overwhelmed by a seasonal closet rollover – don’t fret!  Below we’ve listed step-by-step instructions to bring sunshine to your style:

5 Steps To Transition Your Look to Spring:

Step 1. Shoes: The simplest spring swap you can make is to spruce up your shoe rack. Trade snow boots for rain boots and loafer heels for espadrilles! Keep those booties and riding boots in reach a little longer though because they’re the perfect compliment to spring dresses!

Step 2. Purses: This is by far my favorite swap to make! Moving from durable canvas tote bags to cute wicker baskets – nothing says spring like a dainty purse. Brighten up your look with neutral or fun colored accessories by shopping some of my current favorites here, here and here

Step 3. Embrace Leopard: Embracing leopard is a great way to warm up your winter whites without adding a single pop of color. A faux leopard jacket paired with a dress (like mine above) or leopard shoes with black culottes will add a sophisticated touch for work or edginess to your look for a night on the town!

Step 4. Blazers & Jeans:  Once spring arrives, I pack away thicker wool jackets and pull out lightweight blazers. The easiest look to embrace this season is a classic jean and blazer combo. Whether you’re presenting a pitch, running errands, or heading out for some weekend sun you’ll be sporting a classically chic look. I’ve styled it before – as you can see here. For cooler days, layer the look with a cashmere sweater; for warmer days pair with a simple lightweight tee.

Step 5. Trade In Turtlenecks For Blouses: It’s time to trade in those turtlenecks for spring blouses! A blouse with a sweet ruffle, floral pattern, or funky collar detail will add feminine flair to your look. A well-made blouse is an easy staple that transitions from work to play. Check out a few of my current favorites: here, here, and here.

Spring cleaning and repurposing your wardrobe for the sunnier season is always exciting! As my move-in date quickly approaches, I’m ready to unbox my spring style in my new home.

Let’s talk spring staples by sharing yours below. I’m always looking for new style suggestions!
