Jeffrey Tillou Antiques, Litchfield, CT

In all of Connecticut, this antique shop is my favorite! Every time I visit Litchfield, I must stop to see what new treasures Jeffrey has on display. My Mom has collected a few pieces of artwork from his shop; all of which you’ll see in this post.

From colonial pastel portraits to oil painted courting scenes, Jeffrey Tillou Antiques has colonial artwork worthy of a true historic New England home. My favorite pieces are the pastel portraits that my Mom has acquired over the years. While they’re often more affordable than the other historic oil wood canvas paintings, they’re still just as much an investment in history. Beyond colonial paintings, this antique shop sells highboys, convex mirrors, and antique chairs to boot!

RT FACTS Design & Antiques, Kent, CT

For a modern twist on antiquing, check out the 7,000-foot showroom in the Connecticut countryside at RT FACTS Design & Antiques. Whether you’re antiquing for the unique cool-girl or eccentric guy, this company offers both one-of-a-kind finds and interior design. With everything from contemporary mirrors to chandeliers to ornate furniture – there’s something for every aesthetic.

Still River Antiques, Riverton, CT

If you’re an avid New England antiquer, you’re likely familiar with Hitchcock Furniture. The Hitchcock Chair Co. was founded in 1818 in Riverton, Connecticut. The company produced classic colonial furniture until 2006. When the company came to a close, Still River Antiques became the only authorized restorer of Hitchcock Furniture by purchasing the original stencils, materials, and parts. Now based out of the Hitchcock Factory, Still River Antiques specializes in all things Hitchcock. They’re able to restore just about any old piece of Hitchcock furniture that needs a quick refresh.
