Hey guys & happy Friday!
I love posting on Fridays for a few reasons: First off, it’s casual day in the office, which Matt likes to call pajama day! & Secondly, I try to keep Friday’s content more casual and use it to answer some of your questions.
Overall I’m here to chat about things, that might be helpful, inspirational or relatable to you all. So on Fridays we keep it fresh and fun, and preferably with a trenta black tea lemonade from Starbucks, just saying.
So recently I’ve gotten a lot of questions about my instagram content. Oh, and I love getting questions from you all, every question is a good question, so never feel weird emailing me your random thoughts (aubreyyandow@gmail.com).
A few of you guys have recently reached out to me, asking where I get a lot of my scenic images or how I find scenic places to shoot. SUCH A GOOD QUESTION.
To be honest, I use to wonder the same thing about some of my favorite bloggers. Now to be completely honest my scenic content is essential to my brand, and it’ often gets the highest engagement.
So I’ll break down a few ways I create my scenic content.
First off, I schedule what I like to call ‘Scenic Photo Run‘ days into my calendar.
YUP, it’s honestly scheduled in. This time usually amounts to one or two days a week, where I’ll wake up early, head to my car and literally just drive around.
If you follow me on instagram, which you all should, then you know I LOVE capturing old New England homes and scenic coastal images. I’m lucky enough to live in a state with several historic towns, so usually I’ll just pick a town, find a cafe in the area and start driving.
& I hate going places alone so I’ll often drag my Mom, Dad or Matt with me and make them drive. Along the route, I’ll usually jump out of the car to snap a few scenic homes here or there.
Somehow we always end up parking the car and heading towards the coast with a steaming latte in my hand and my Canon Rebel camera around my neck.
To be honest, I actually enjoy capturing scenic New England landscapes more than capturing pictures of me in outfits. I find New England towns really inspirational in terms of design and decor; and I think that’s why I love showcasing scenic content on my instagram.
Another way I capture scenic content is through The TCC Crew! I have five crew members that head out into their local neighborhoods across New England to capture the scenic sights we all know and love.
You can check The TCC Crew out here & see some of the scenic images they’ve captured here. Oh & if you’ve captured New England scenery, that you think would fit in with the TCC brand, just use #thetccteam on your photos & it just might get reposted!
So basically, the concept to succeed in capturing all the wonders of your little piece of New England is to literally schedule it in. Give yourself at least two hours and get lost, sounds like I just helped you decide your weekend plans.
Okay heading out to the movies with Matt hoping to see La La Land but I have a feeling we are going to end up seeing Fences. I’ll keep you posted. xx Aubrey

I’ve been wanting to have “location scouting” days for so long now, but can never seem to make it happen! I’ll be adding it to my schedule this week after seeing this post so I will actually get it done! How do you mark locations you find so you remember them? Do you save a pin on your map? I’m always worried that I’ll find a cool place but now be able to get there again.

I usually write a landmark or well-known shop near the location, and plug that into the GPS when I want to revisit the spot! I’m glad you are making time to head out, it will be so much fun, I promise.
