Matt and I returned from our ‘sort-of’ babymoon in Jamaica about three weeks ago.

I say ‘sort of’ because initially my parents had booked this trip as a surprise family vacation prior to us announcing the pregnancy. We thought maybe we’d fit in an ‘official’ babymoon in April. But, with work on overload and the baby’s due date approaching, we decided to make the most of our family vacation and have a babymoon too!

Matt and I spent a week in Jamaica with my three siblings and my sister’s boyfriend, Jon.

It was a week full of beach lounging, poolside reading, needlepoint sessions, and relaxation. Matt and I have visited a few tropical islands together including Punta Cana, Aruba, Turks and Caicos, and St. Maarten. But, we’d never been to Jamaica – nor had anyone in our family – so it was a fun treat to get the opportunity to visit a new spot.

I know taking a babymoon with your entire family is not traditional. But, it certainly was memorable.

We left the trip with so many inside jokes and laughable moments. It was nice to spend quality time with my siblings – who live quite far away from me – prior to the baby’s arrival in June.

It was actually ‘spring break’ when we visited Jamaica and as the kids would say – it was LIT.

Was I the only sober person there? Probably. Was I the only one not twerking at the pool bar? Yes.

But, the buffets certainly hit the spot at 6 months pregnant and the people-watching was next level.

Since it was spring break the dress code was so casual, which at 6 months pregnant was A-okay with me! I ended up wearing bike shorts and sneakers to most dinners – Hailey Bieber chic – even though we promised my parents that we’d get a nice group shot to use as a possible Christmas card this year.

So, we decided we’d get dolled up one night to take family photos on the beach. The views of the sunset were stunning and the water was a slight turquoise blue that was gorgeous to take in.

I’d say Jamaica is a one-time visit for all of us but it was certainly an unforgettable one.

Of course, we made sure to get a tie-dye onesie before we left to remember the trip. I’m curious, did you take a babymoon and if so where did you go? I’d love to hear about where you all went below!
