This past Saturday Matt, Tessa and I jumped into our car and drove straight to Providence, Rhode Island for a day of exploring. The last time I had a chance to visit Providence was way back in 2011, so we knew a short trip up there was long overdue, for all of us. After a quick pit stop, or two, to grab breakfast and coffee, our little crew was on our way to the capital of Rhode Island. We had so much fun exploring the different regions Providence has to offer and even made a last minute decision to take a tour of Providence college since it’s on Tessa’s potential list of colleges. If you live in New England then you understand how strange our weather has been. We went from a blistering ninety degrees last week to a weekend of brisk fall weather, and it looks like it might stay that way for some time. It was a beautiful sixty-eight degrees when we arrived in Providence, and we quickly decided to take advantage of the cooler weather and snap some pictures. Now I knew the first place I wanted to visit upon arriving in Providence was the College Hill Region or The East Side of Providence. I’ve heard such amazing things about the area, and since you all know I’m a sucker for historical areas we plugged in a random street within the district and crossed our fingers for easy street parking. 

Once we arrived, we were, in fact, lucky, because the historic streets were almost ghostly. With very little cars and plenty of available parking, we jumped out of our car and started exploring the cobblestoned streets one hill at a time. I had made the not so smart decision to break in my new fall mules on this trip, which wasn’t an ideal shoe choice come uneven roads but with a little assistance from Matt, I stayed on my feet. 

After we were finished exploring College Hill we decided to walk through Brown University’s campus and sneak a peek at its quintessential New England Ivy League architecture. I was so happy I decided to wear my new ruffle trimmed turtleneck, as the wind started to pick up as we headed towards the afternoon. I had actually just purchased this turtleneck the other day and as soon as I tried it on, I turned around and ordered another one in Ivory. It is beyond soft and a little more fashion-forward than the everyday turtleneck. I decided to pair it with this utility skirt and a few simple barrettes to keep my hair back. 

Once we were done walking around Brown, we piled in the car and headed to our 2:00 PM scheduled tour of Providence College. Honestly, I’m so glad we made the decision to take an official tour of the college because so much has changed since Matt and I previously looked at attending. The tour took about two hours which was a little longer than anticipated and left us ravished and in need of some delicious food. 

On that note, we headed towards Federal Hill, a known food spot in Providence and anxiously awaited our food. We each ordered large individual pasta dishes at Constantino’s and a small pepperoni pizza to split because we were just that hungry. We quickly ate, walked back to the car and headed home. It was the perfect day in Rhode Island and the weather was a huge factor in making the experience so joyful, because nothing puts me in a better mood than fall weather!
