Matt and I are headed up to New Hampshire to celebrate. So, I wanted to share what I’m packing and purchasing for our upcoming trip.
As someone who likes to dress for the occasion, I see plenty of stars and stripes for our upcoming festivities. The radar is hinting New Englanders should anticipate temperatures to hit the 90s this Fourth of July – which means out with the All-America blue jeans and in with patriotic cotton dresses.
The breathable fabric is both breezy and feminine. This year I chose neutral nautical styles that incorporated blue stripes and stars for my Fourth of July weekend looks. The first thing on my packing list was this stunning Ginger Dress by Lilly Pulitzer, This clip dot stripe dress – with feminine sleeve detail – is perfect for day to night functions. Since I’m working on the morning of Independence Day, I plan to slip in this dress and sweep on a red lip for a sophisticated red, white, and blue look that’ll bring me from work to a date night with Matt.
Next on my packing list is comfortable cotton dresses to wear as a coverup over my bathing suit while on the boat. I’m a huge fan of skin protection so you’ll often find me wearing long sleeves and sometimes full-length pants on the water – but, due to the rising temperatures, I decided to purchase this Striped Midi T-Shirt Dress. The dress is lightweight enough to keep me cool while keeping my skin covered.
Finally, for our annual family party, I plan on wearing this Vineyard Vines cotton Firework Seersucker Tie-Front Dress. See another Vineyard Vines tie-front dress I recently styled here, And of course, it’s a pool party so Matt will be in his American Flag swim trunks.
Below, I’ve listed additional stars and stripes styles for you to check out! Be sure to comment below with your big or small July 4th plans!
