Day Trips & Car Rides are my summer obsessions, especially in New England. 

My home is an hour from Boston, a hour & half from NYC, and two-three hours from NH, NJ & RI.

So you can see why I easily became obsessed with day trips. A little escape never hurt anybody & with so many places to go & unique things to see…I have turned into a road trip junkie. 

My latest car ride/road trip was to downtown Mystic CT. Besides a ton of cute shopping & yummy lobster; Mystic Seaport is filled with New Yorkers vacationing, teenagers on 1st dates, & 1000 ice cream shops! 

It’s an ideal place for a casual date or a outdoor run (rather walk in my case). Surrounded by ports, boats, & bridges, I just literally love Mystic!

On hot summer days It’s always hard to get super dressed up, so I always assessors & keep the clothing simple & light! 

One cool thing about Mystic Seaport is The Bridge! The Mystic Bridge isn’t tall enough to let the sailboats out, so 20 mins before the new hour, the mystic bridge raises & allows the ships to sail through. If you haven’t seen anything like this, it’s actually pretty cool & a tad scary. 

Anyways it was a fun car ride & a great place to people watch! From great food to relaxing & romantic views; I approve Mystic CT as the perfect little place for a day date, with ice cream included of course!!!
