Fall in Connecticut is by far my favorite thing. I think I love it so much because I have so many fond memories from when I was a little munchkin. I can remember going to corn mazes and running around with all my siblings, watching Matt play football when we first started dating, and all the exciting moments I had getting ready for the local fairs with my high school friends.
I also think I have a greater appreciation for fall since moving out of New England, nothing is better than a true fall morning when you walk out the door and the air is strikingly cold. Bundling up in scarfs, walking around my local town and just taking in all the leaves falling down. It’s truly magical.
Fall makes us look twice at our current surroundings. Fall takes everything we find mundane and makes it extraordinarily beautiful. I think that’s why I really love fall, it gives us a chance to rediscover our little New England towns. Oh & did I mention it’s also a time filled with delicious food.
The cider donut is by far my favorite fall treat, to be honest I don’t even like donuts, but I’ll eat a cider donut any day. If you’re looking for a good cider donut, skip the chain stores (Starbucks, Dunkin Donuts, etc.) the best cider donuts come from little farm stands, so get in your car and just drive. Eventually, I promise, you’ll come across a farmer stand and I bet they’ll have cider donuts.
I’ve always pictured my life in New England and I think that’s because I could never give up fall permanently. I’m excited to eventually move back to New England and torture Matt with everything basic about Fall. I don’t think Matt would complain because Fall in Connecticut means one thing to him, GO PATS! Anyone else have a boyfriend that would definitely dump you for Tom Brady? It’s a hard burden us New England gals have to carry.
At least Tom Brady & I have one thing in common, we both like UGGs, so we could be basic together. Anyways I hope you all had a wonderful & spooky Halloween, Matt & I spent the whole night handing candy out to trick or treaters and it was such a fun night. xx Aubrey
