[outfit_details]Every year as Autumn approaches and temperatures crawl down to the low 70s – making a light jacket or sweater a morning requirement – I feel so blessed to call New England my home. Historically, the weather begins to shift mid-September in Connecticut, but this year it feels as though it’s arriving early – something I’m completely on board with!
Even though I’m eager to swap out my whites for blacks and shades of caramel, it is still August. So, I’ve decided to embrace a color I too often push to the back of my closet: pink. Since rosy tones are currently making a mark on transitional fashion, I’m leaving my orange sweaters for October. Instead, I’ll be layering on hues of pink this pre-fall in New England!
When shopping for pre-fall sweaters, I opt for lightweight materials or styles with shorter sleeve lengths. This season I fell in love with this stretch-knit sweater. It features a ribbed neckline and exaggerated 3/4 puff sleeves. Not only is the color a gorgeous clay pink, but it’s so soft!
Other options I’m loving right now: A beachy open-knit sweater – which is great for layering. This pink striped pullover sweater and this one with a textured design – which is currently on sale!
A classic midi skirt is a pre-fall closet staple!
A midi-skirt can be worn with flats on warm September days or boots for cooler nights. A fun twist on the look this season is a midi skirt with hues of pink. I love this denim button midi skirt in a dusty rose tone, this tiered midi skirt in a light shade of pink, and this corduroy number.
This morning was actually the first time this season I woke up, walked out the door and turned around to grab a jacket. That’s when I noticed I’ve done too good of a job gifting away lightly worn pieces to my younger sisters and might have recycled a few too many of my fall jackets.
It’s time for me to shop and with Labor Day sales insight I have a few jackets on my list!
I highly recommend my soft pink trench coat – it’s still available and currently on sale! At first, I wasn’t sure if I’d get much use our of a pink jacket. But I”m here to report I’ve certainly gotten my money’s worth, along with tons of compliments!
You know I love a tweed moment! Nobody does a tweed jacket quite like Rebecca Taylor. This navy and pink combo is currently on sale and so is this tweed jacket from Red Fleece.
I hope this post inspired you to embrace the hue of the season! Rosy tones are the perfect pre-fall style shakeup to stroll your college campus, layer for work, or stand out for date night!
