This week I scored a interview, with the glamorous Rainy Paul! She is a College Fashionista at The University of San Diego, and sat down to share her tips and tricks to embracing confidence with The Coastal Confidence Community!
I know you guys will love her as much as I do! Sooo here we go…
+ Introduce yourself!
Hello! My name is Rainy Paul and I could not be more thrilled to be a part of the Coastal Confidence. I am a Style Guru on the sunny campus of the University of San Diego for an innovative company called CollegeFashionista. I am currently pursuing a Marketing major and recently landed in the States after spending the past semester studying abroad in Europe. Throughout my travels in different countries and after thumbing throughVogue Italia, I gained inspiration from stylish men and women from all over the world. They taught me how to adapt to the unique sense of style worn by each city, and now I have the travel bug and crave adventure.
+ Why do you love fashion?
Fashion is a complete form of self-expression, and Marc Jacobs nailed it when he said, “there are hints about who you are in what you wear.” I love that. Fashion is an animated language that allows you to say who you are without ever having to speak a word. I love that it allows me to push the limits and test the waters.
+ How do you like blogging for College Fashionista?
I love following and capturing unique fashion statements developing on campus. One of my favorite things to do is sit on the main lawn of campus and people watch, studying clothing choices, interesting layering, and unique color combinations. Following these sartorial changes is an exciting challenge, and I am always eager to hold on and follow these trends, wherever they take me!
+ What makes you feel confident?
When I have a Carrie Bradshaw-esque hair day.
+ Cocktail of Choice?
I currently love the Gangster that I discovered at a neighborhood eatery and bar in West Hollywood called Laurel Hardware. It’s a happy and refreshing cocktail with cucumber vodka, fresh juiced watermelon and lots of lime. It’s also pink, so who can turn that down?
+ Love life tips?
Go on adventures together. Whether it be trying a new restaurant downtown, riding bikes on the boardwalk, or traveling through Europe, do it together. There is no stress when you’re laughing and exploring, only love. It creates memories and allows you to share special little moments that bring you closer.
+ When I wake up I…
Drink my cup of English Breakfast tea with a spoonful of honey and a dash of milk. I go outside and stand on my balcony because I love to feel the cool, morning air with a salty breeze. It is always a good way to start my day.
+ What’s in your purse?
All of my purses are tiny, so since I have such limited space, I keep only my go-to items in there. I can never leave without my Laura Mercier lipstick in “Antique Pink,” which is neutral, yet rich in color. My blotting papers are always tucked away in my purse as well, just to keep me looking fresh and rejuvenated throughout the day. I also tend to find mini Polaroid photos tucked away that I took with my Fujifilm camera of my latest adventures, like the one from brunch with my sister.
+ Last but not least favorite beauty tip!
Can I give you two? Well, I’m giving you two. First, I love when my make-up is natural looking, so after a touch of foundation and light layer of mascara, my first tip is to add a splash of color to your lips to enhance your natural coloring. A rosy pink pout is versatile, understated, and well polished. Second, smile. You will always look beautiful when wearing one.
+ So I hope you guys enjoyed Rainy’s tips & tricks. She’s makes college as glamours as it can be! Happy Monday xx.
