Oh My God. If you guys follow me on snapchat or viewed my Instagram stories on Sunday then you know Matt & I went to the Super Bowl!!

So much went down this weekend, that I feel obligated to break the whole thing down for you all, so here we go. 

Super Bowl Surprise….

Okay, Matt & I wanted to go to the Super Bowl but we never pulled the trigger. 

To be honest we were afraid of online scams, the cost of tickets and finding the perfect seats. & that’s where my dad jumped in, everyone that knows me, knows about my dad, because as Matt says ‘he’s a nut’. 

When he found out the Super Bowl was in Houston and the Patriots were going, he was determined for us to go. He searched long and hard on Craigslist, called me about 1,000 times and drove all the way to Boston to meet with the ticket owners and eventually purchased the tickets. Matt & I are now forever in debt to Tommy & will start the process of paying him back. 

Matt & I are now forever in debt to Tommy & without him, this weekend would have NEVER been possible. So thanks, Mom & Dad,

However, getting the tickets all happened last moment on Thursday, just three days before the Super Bowl, so my dad obviously felt like this was the perfect opportunity to prank Matt.

My dad loves a good surprise gift. 

So that’s exactly what we did.

On Friday I told Matt we were shooting for Bud Light, but the truth was I wanted to catch his reaction on camera. So midway through the ‘FAKE’ Bud Light campaign shoot’ (HEHE) I pulled out the tickets and we caught the whole thing on camera!

So once I pulled out the tickets, Matt literally blacked out. Yup, he just stood there with a large grin.  

Once he came back to planet earth (Houston we have landed haha), he was soo pumped. He was so excited, that I even convinced him to stop at Chipotle (hehe). Anyway, after chopping down on my free Chipotle we headed home and started packing.  

Off To Houston…

The next day, Matt & I woke up at 6 am and took the four-hour car ride from Dallas to Houston. It really wasn’t that bad, and we were oooooh so excited that we would have driven 12 hours to see the game.  

Once we arrived in Houston, we spent the rest of Saturday visiting with Matt’s friends and headed out to see the city.

THE BIG GAME… 

Like WOW. I’m going, to be honest, and say  75% of the game was depressing & 25% was screaming, chanting ‘BRADY, BRADY, BRADY; dancing, and many moments of silence. 

To break it down if you missed the big game, going into the fourth quarter the score was Patriots: 9 & Falcons: 28! So we were losing BY A LOT. I have never seen so many grown men at a football game, sitting down and crying.  

I mean people were not taking this well. I was actually slightly stressed that if we lost, Houston would be ruined for Matt forever. 

But I knew they were going to come back, I even stated it at halftime on my snapchat. I really wasn’t that worried, Patriots always put up a big fight, I was being typical optimistic Aubrey. 

& then within one-quarter, the Patriots came back by scoring 19 points, tied, went into overtime, won the coin toss and scored a touchdown to win the Super Bowl.

WOW!

It’s actually a historic comeback; which shows us all to simply NEVER GIVE UP! They could have totally thrown the towel in or given up hope, but they didn’t and they proceeded to do what was deemed basically statistically impossible and WON! 

Whether you like football or not, It was very inspiring, to say the least. 

Now Matt & I are back home, with little to no voices, a slight lack of hearing and a little post-Super Bowl high. We actually can’t stop talking about it.
