Okay, I love living in New England, because you have all these whimsical towns in your backyard, literally waiting for you to explore them.

I love leaving CT & seeing new towns, so I was beyond excited when I booked my stay at 506 Inn on the River in Woodstock, VT.

Okay, go grab a coffee & hold onto your seats because this is a long post!

I’m breaking this post into sections because I loved the inn that much. It was like I died and went to decor heaven...or Joanna Gaines’ house.

The inn’s decor was a mixture of true New England style (think American flags, vintage ski boots & lots of historic typewriters) and eccentric antique finds.

I was ready to move in & never look back.

Okay….enough about the decor, let’s jump into the recap.

Vermont is about a 2.5 hour drive from my house in CT, so we arrived at the inn around 7pm on Friday and immediately went to the grand room.

We grabbed some decaf coffee and chatted by the fire before heading off to bed. It was a very rainy weekend, which made staying at the inn even more fun.

There is nothing better than curling up inside with a warm cup of coffee, on a rainy night. Also Vermont coffee is no joke, the whole town of Woodstock seemed to have the best coffee. which is a huge plus!

506 Inn on the River: Poolpool timepool

This pool meant business.

I honestly don’t know what else to say because it is probably one of the prettiest indoor pools in Vermont. I took the first picture sitting in the Jacuzzi and I didn’t want to get out! The pool room looked like it belonged inside a house in the hamptons, as it was decked out with sophisticated decor & included a sauna (#win).

On Saturday it was still super rainy so my sister & I woke up and headed straight for the pool. We spent about three hours swimming around, getting out, jumping in the sauna and repeating that sequence about 20 times.

Once the rain started to wrap up, we headed back to our rooms to get ready for our next activity.

The Charming Town of Woodstock, Vermont:charming new england townchurchperfect home

If you want to experience a true New England town, then book your stay at 506 Inn on the River & get to Woodstock VT.

I’m sure you have all noticed, how much I love New England homes by now. I’m always being a total creeper and taking pictures of the New England-est homes & sharing them with you all on Instagram. I probably look like the biggest creeper.

Well after the pool I got dressed and spent the whole afternoon with my family, walking around the town and snapping pictures.

The homes were as New England as it could get really. They were charming, whimsical and most of them included shutters and a fence.

So my family & I walked around the beautiful town for most of the day & then headed to the Maple Festival!

Yup, you heard me right! We headed to a Maple Festival, 506 Inn on the River recommended we attend the festival and I’m so glad we went.

It was filled with local restaurants showcasing their best maple dishes. My sister and I just went for it, we ate maple ice cream, maple meringues and even ate maple french toast cupcakes. Everything was so tasty.

I even left buying a maple candle, true story I swear.

A Woodstock Nightcap:baryumbar goalscocktailAfter the Maple Festival it was time for a nightcap drink, before heading up to bed.

Of course I was obsessed with 506 Inn at the River’s bar, which was a bar fit for John F. Kennedy. It had classy cocktails, refreshing margaritas and cooling spritzers.

Not to mention the bar was filled with vintage card games from the 70’s and about two dozen old books.

After falling in love with the bar decor, I had to order a drink. It was the perfect way to end a rainy Saturday night.

506 Inn at the River: Country Breakfast:country kitcheninstagram style

Okay I digress into a small rant about how much I loved the inn’s kitchen.

It literally felt like a set from the food network, it was that perfect. On Sunday my family and I met at the inn’s country kitchen for a complimentary breakfast! It was exactly what we needed and the perfect way to leave Woodstock.

The trip overall left me super inspired. Many of you followed along on snapchat and shared local recommendations and wanted to see more of the inn.

So the minute I got home, I started working on this post. I wanted to get it to you ASAP.

Many of you asked if I liked staying at the inn & if I would recommend it, and my answers is…YES! I’m actually dying to bring Matt to 506 Inn on the River this summer, I think it would make the perfect weekend getaway.

It’s the perfect way to experience the charming New England town of Woodstock.

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend xx A.
