Whenever Matt and I travel north to New Hampshire, we make it a priority to start our trip with an empty stomach so we have room to dine at some of our favorite places along the way or be adventurous and discover a new spot in town.

Fun fact about Matt: he LOVES pancakes. Pancakes for breakfast; pancakes for lunch; pancakes for dinner – he’ll devour them all. Since Matt’s usually the one behind the wheel on our way to New Hampshire, he decides the fare. Leaving us headed for my favorite – Chinese; or his favorite – a pancake house.

Our last trip up north inspired me to share some pancake houses we’ve already discovered and a few that are still on my list of amazing recommendations from you all!

Without further ado, my pancake house picks in no particular order:

5 Pancake Houses Worth Visiting in New Hampshire

#1) Parker’s Maple Barn // Manson, NH – maple coffee

Parker’s Maple Barn is the quintessential New England Pancake House. We specifically chose to shoot at this spot due to its cozy atmosphere and country aesthetic. From wood-burning fireplaces to house-made maple syrup, maple coffee, and maple donuts Parker’s Maple Barn is my favorite pancake house to visit. My love for their maple coffee alone had me ordering two cups to go as we continued our trip up north.

#2) Heritage Farm Pancake House // Sanbornton, NH

Looking for an authentic New England farm experience? Then you have to check out Heritage Farm Pancake House. There isn’t much seating, but there is so much to see and do! Living up to their name, the farm houses on-site live animals. Visitors can sneak a peek inside the sugar house where maple syrup is processed; and as for the food – everything is served family style. The diverse menu includes 30 different flavors of vegan pancakes!

#3) Polly’s Pancake Parlor // SUGAR HILL, NH

Polly’s Pancake Parlor is arguably the most famous pancake house in New Hampshire. If you’re near the White Mountains, this is the spot to go for breakfast. Be prepared to wait. But, trust me it’s worth it! With gorgeous mountain views the parlor serves dozens of maple filled treats, like maple bacon pop tarts. Seriously, how could you go wrong?  On our way out, Matt and I always stock up on some maple syrup and pancake mix so we can recreate the breakfast at home.

#4) Benton’s Sugar Shack // Thornton, NH

I haven’t had the pleasure of visiting Benton’s Sugar Shack yet but it’s on my list. The ‘Very Berry Pancake Platter’ on their menu is calling my name. I’m a HUGE fan of berries and Benton’s Sugar Shack has a pancake filled with every single berry you could image – blueberries, strawberries, raspberries, and even blackberries – Yum!

#5) Stuart & John’s Sugarhouse // Westmoreland, NH

Stuart & John’s Sugarhouse is the place to bring family & friends to year-round. The reason? They have so much to offer beyond just amazing breakfast food! As one of the few pancake houses that stay open until 9:00 PM (with breakfast served until 3:00 PM) I’d highly recommend Stuart & John’s Sugarhouse if you have a non-breakfast food lover in your group – guilty as charged!

I hope this post inspired you to try some of your locally made maple syrup found at any of the pancake houses above!

Since there’s so many more pancake houses I still have to try, I’m thinking a future part 2 pancake post is a must. Until then, leave your suggestions below. Pancake house suggestions in any & all states are welcome!
