Holiday Traditions, Well Sort Of…

Everyone loves holiday traditions, and we all have them. For instance at my house, my mom puts up over four Christmas trees (yes four), while my dad nearly kills himself as he hangs a decorated Christmas tree from our roof. It’s a long story but it actually looks cute, I’ll show you on snapchat once it’s up.

Anyway the best part about having traditions is that you never get tired of them! For instance another tradition we have on Thanksgiving is listening to my dad sing Alice’s Restaurant as he drives us from one Thanksgiving dinner to the next, he somehow ALWAYS finds the song on the radio (I don’t even know how). We have a big family so we usually hit at least three thanksgiving dinners, all while listening to that song. So just imagine this song on repeat with vocals from Tommy (aka my dad).

I’m big on traditions and while Matt & I won’t be spending Thanksgiving together, we are upholding our tradition this weekend. Want to know what it is, you’ll never guess.

Okay our Thanksgiving tradition is Black Friday shopping just for funsies. We all get bundled up head out with some of my cousins to the local outlets in CT & freeze our butts off; while sipping hot cocoa and grabbing some J.Crew socks for literally nothing.

Some people think Black Friday is ‘commercial’ and ‘shallow’ but Matt & I made it a tradition, leave it to me to make shopping a tradition. Matt loves it too I swear, so this weekend we are heading out to the outlets near Dallas to get some early Black Friday shopping in. We usually find amazing deals either at J.Crew Factory, Nordstrom Racks or Amazon.

Oh & I’m working on some fun TCC Holiday Traditions for us to partake in! I think you’ll all LOVE what’s coming your way. Drop me a line below and tell me what your holiday traditions are, even if they aren’t ‘traditional’. xx Aubrey

  1. Love the photos and can’t wait to see your parent’s home all decked out for Christmas! This Thanksgiving we are traveling to a family member’s house to have Thanksgiving “linner.” Normally we have Thanksgiving at my home on the lake, it’s my favorite because of the Fall leaves and the sunsets on the water. Enjoy your time with Matt!

  2. First of all, as always you two look adorable together!
We’re really mixing up traditions this year. My boyfriend is jewish so last year we first celebrated Hanukkah with his family in the UK and then Christmas with mine in Germany. This year Hanukkah and Christmas happen to fall on the same week, both start on the 24th. So we’re going to have a week of Christmas and Hanukkah celebrations and traditions all mixed up.
    X Alex
