The 4th of July is literally one of my favorite holiday, after Christmas of course. I actually think the 4th of July is wayyyyyyyy underrated, anyone else agree!
It’s the perfect holiday & I’m going to tell you why.
First of all it’s July, you are in the middle of another perfect New England summer and everyone has the day off, pretty perfect if you ask me. Soooooo basically, you get to chow-down with all your favorite peeps and celebrate America, what a great holiday.
Secondly FIREWORKS! Matt & I went to watch fireworks on our first date, so fireworks just make me happy. I especially love the white/gold weeping willow ones (does anyone know what I’m talking about? If so comment below).
Finally it’s time to pull out that RED, WHITE & BLUE!
Yes I’m that #basic girl that wears red, white & blue on the 4th of July. Oh & this year I’m taking #basic to the next level and I’ll be wearing blue and peer pressuring Matt into wearing red & white (hehehehe).
Okay so if you are on the hunt for your Red, White & Blue 4th of July style…I am here for you, with the help from my sisters. Tessa is sporting blue, Sarah is rocking it in white & I’m making a statement in red. From casual picnics to fancy beach club celebrations one of these looks will work for you!
For a moderately formal event, go for the red dress I’m wearing! It is from J.Crew & is did I mention it’s on sale with an additional 40% off.
The blue dress, modeled by my sister Tessa, is an oldie but a goodie! If you’re looking for a staple striped dress to add to your closet, I would looking into this one! I actually just purchased this tee shirt dress & I think it would be perfect for any casual 4th of July activity.
A good white dress is worth investing in, sooooo I recommend going Lilly! This lace tunic dress is the perfect combination of elegance & sass. My sister Sarah purchased her’s from Lilly a few years ago & pulls it out for every summer function.
Overall the 4th of July is one of my favorite holidays because it’s all about celebrating our history and surrounding ourselves with people we love. It’s an exciting time to reconnect with people I see far to little of & celebrate our amazing country.
Tell me what you are doing/wearing for the 4th below in the comments! xxA.

Totally agree that the 4th is underrated, and should be celebrated way more than it is! I’m not sure about what I’m wearing yet, but I think I might need to pick up that gorgeous red dress! Love the cutouts and scallops!
