[outfit_details]From the moment we bought our New England fixer-upper, I knew I wanted to create the ultimate guest room. I wanted our guest(s) to enjoy a space with New England-style that felt both luxurious and cozy during their stay. As Matt and I approach the one year anniversary of buying our fixer-upper, we’re finally creating our guest room with Serena & Lily!
With that in mind, I wanted to create a space that friends and family would look forward to staying in.
Nearly all the rooms in our home are off-white in color. So, when designing our guest room, I liked the idea of highlighting the brown tones throughout our home by painting the guest room a historic brown. Throughout our home, you’ll find leather brown accents, antique bronze fixtures, and decor that embraces warm earthy tones. Matt blindly trusted me and without sampling colors painted the room the most stunning color – Mount Rushmore Rock by Benjamin Moore. Once the room was painted began furnishing the space – which is where Serena & Lily came in!
Serena & Lily just opened a new store in Chestnut Hill Square, just outside of Boston. The 4,200 square-foot building features collections of coastal-inspired bedding, indoor and outdoor furniture, wallpaper, décor, and more!
Not only does Serena & Lily have the entire store stagged in the most gorgeous fashion – but they have a full-blown design center right onsite! While I tend to purchase most things online – when it comes to furniture it’s important to see the color and feel the texture of each piece firsthand. Last weekend, Matt and I visited the Boston location to check out the design center. We instantly fell in love with their Webster Bed because it embodied a historical character. The bed has a sturdy structure with wood details – everything we wanted for our guests!
Our guest room has so many earthy tones, so I wanted to make the space welcoming with crisp linens. With that in mind, I ordered Serena & Lily’s Soho Duvet Cover, matching sheets, and shams in pink sand.
A good dose of pillows makes a bed extra cozy. So, Matt and I decided to repurpose these two winter beach pillows we purchased from Serena & Lily two years ago and pair them with two Kentfield pillows from Serena & Lily’s new fall arrivals. I’m a huge fan of Serena & Lily’s pillows because they’re extremely comfortable and retain their shape.
I’m so excited about how our guest room is turning out – I just need a few more wall decorations to complete the look! Discovering wall art will come in time, as I tend to find my favorite pieces by surprise.
If you’re a New Englander looking for custom-designed furniture or interested in quality timeless pieces – do yourself a favor and check out Serena & Lily’s new store in Chestnut Hill Square – I promise you won’t be disappointed!
Hopefully, this post convinced my friends and family to pop by for a visit soon!
