Okay so if your a college student then you probably understand the mixed feelings of leaving your friends from home, to go back to your college.
It’s not always easy & for me…I like to say bye with a little something special! Later this week, I’ll share some of my go to goodbye gifts for college girlfriends.
But when it comes to guys…my gifts always come covered in chocolate.
So this week I went out and bought enough cookie supplies to feed a small college football team & started cooking.
Since it’s Nestle’s 75th year in business…I decided to homemake their famous chocolate chip cookies.
SO here is how I made 3 dozen cookies & an epic mess in my kitchen:
NESTLE TOLL HOUSE CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES!
2 & 1/4 CUP OF FLOUR.
1 TSP. BAKING SODA.
1 TSP. SALT
2 STICKS OF UNSALTED BUTTER.
3/4 CUP GRANULATED SUGAR.
3/4 CUP BROWN SUGAR.
1 TSP. VANILLA EXTRACT.
2 LARGE EGGS.
3 CUPS OF CHOCOLATE CHIPS.
My 1st step is always preheating the oven, (before I forget) so for these cookies set the oven @ 375 F.
I then make sure to lay out all the ingredients & pull out my old fashion kitchenAid mixer found here!
I combined the flour, salt & baking soda into the smaller red bowl & the brown & granulated sugar into the larger red bowl.
I threw the larger bowl filled with the sugars & two sticks of butter into the mixer. I mixed it all together until it started to look creamy (yumm).
After that I added one egg at a time…& then I slowly added the red bowl of flour, while the mixer was beating it all together.
& finally I poured the 3 cups of chocolate chips into the mixing bowl.
Once it was mixed together I had to fight off Matt who was trying to eat the bucket of cookie dough.
Umm… I lost the fight & we probably ate about 5 raw cookies.
But it was so good & how many cookies do my friends really need?
We ended up with a little less than 3 dozen but it was worth the splurge.
I popped the cookies in for 10 min & once they were done I let them cool for 20 min.
& then it was ready to pack & hand out the cookies to my college friends.
I am already missing my East Coast friends as I start packing up for San Diego, but I still have a little more time to enjoy their Yankee attitude.
Also I am beyond obsessed with these little cooking bowls from Anthropologie (found here) ! I bought two & I’ll show you how I used the other one later this week :)!
