A New Englander's Guide To Picnic Season | The Coastal Confidence by Aubrey Yandow[outfit_details] Summer has officially arrived, which means New Englanders are packing to picnic as the party moves from indoors to outside!

With an overall rainy spring, we are grateful for clear days ahead to soak up some sunshine. Whether you’re staying put or traveling this month, our crew has put together a New Englander’s Guide to Picnic Season in hopes of preparing you for summer festivities!

Packing To Picnic

Hot Dog Toaster – During the summer I have what feels like an endless line of visitors just popping by since they know I work from home. Having visitors is great but Matt and I aren’t set up to entertain outside just yet. With no grill, I found that this Hot Dog Toaster does the job right. After all, nothing says picnic like a footlong hot diggity dog!

Gramercy Picnic Basket Set – I purchased this picnic basket set last fall and don’t regret it one bit! With study wicker handles, it’s perfect for a picnic in the park or a day on the boat!

Reusable Picnic Plates  – Instead of repurchasing paper plates all summer long, upgrade your picnic with reusable picnic plates. They are made out of melamine and are dishwasher safe!

Wooden Bowling Set  – No picnic is complete without a lawn game or two. While bocce balls and corn hole are a popular favorite, I prefer this retro wooden bowling set. This game is always a hit with adults and kids. Plus, it makes for easy cleanup.

White Adirondack Chairs – The biggest but best investment on this list is a good pair of folding Adirondack chairs. From outdoor picnics to front lawn decor, Adirondack chairs are highly versatile. They come in several colors and are a smart investment piece for any new homeowner.

Corn on the Cob Trays  Summertime in New England means it’s time to indulge in one of my favorite seasonal foods – local corn on the cob! I’m such a fan, I probably eat at least two ears of corn a day this time of year. So whenever I host or need a gift for the hostess I purchase and repurchase these corn on the cob trays.

Weather Rope Hammock – Whether you’re on the New England coastline or further inland by the rolling country hills, there’s nothing better than enjoying summer evenings wrapped up on a weather rope hammock. Matt and I are currently brainstorming where to hang this classic rope hammock outside our home.

Gingham Wrap Dress – In order to call an outdoor gathering a picnic – gingham must be involved! To embrace the theme throw down a gingham table cloth or zip yourself into a gingham dress,
