Winter is the perfect time to find a recipe you are dying to test out & just go for it. With a lot of snow days in my future (ahhh), which result in a lot of time usually wasted sitting at home, I wasn’t that excited about this winter. Until I decided this year to make the most of those darn snow days by testing out new recipies. I spent the last snowy day baking these chocolate chunk blondies and it was a great way to make a not so productive day productive.

This recipe is Ina Garten’s and is as good as it looks (I ate so many of these blondies & I overloaded on cookie dough, #noregrets). Ina Garten is by far my favorite food network star to watch & I will admit I’m obsessed with her house (every New Englander is!). Anyways I listed the recipe below. for all my TCC readers, like you, to try out. Enjoy the amazing blondies & instagram a picture of your cookies if you end up baking them, I would love to see all your creations. xx A.

What You’ll Need:

1/2 pound (2 sticks) unsalted butter, at room temperature

1 cup light brown sugar, lightly packed

1/2 cup granulated sugar

2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract

2 extra-large eggs, at room temperature

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

1 teaspoon kosher salt

1 pound semisweet chocolate chunks

Let’s Bake:

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees & have a 8 x 12 x 2 inch sized baking pan on hand. In a bowl with a paddle mixer cream the butter, brown sugar and granulated sugar on high speed for 3 minutes, until light & fluffy. Then place mixer on low & add the vanilla. Next add the eggs, and mix well. In a small bowl, shift together the flour, baking soda and salt. With the mixer still on low, add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture. Finally throw in the chocolate chunks.

Spread the batter into the pan and smooth the top. Bake for about 30 minutes & allow the cookies to cool completely in the pan before cutting into the cookies.

See, what did I tell you, quick & super easy recipe thanks to Ina Garten! & if you are in search of a fun way to brighten up anyones day…these blondies are it!!! Have a great day guys.

  1. YUM! These look so good. Ina Garten is one of my absolute favourites, as well. I actually prefer blondies over brownies, but do love that these have a kiss of chocolate in it. I will def give it a go – and eat the dough too! 😉 xx SS

  2. This recipe looks SO delicious! I’m a sucker for anything with chocolate chips and this twist on the classic chocolate chip cookie looks so amazing. I’m also obsessed with that mug! It’s adorable!
