Today I’m sharing my homemade ginger lemonade recipe & trust me it is worth trying. I’ve got basically everyone in my house drinking homemade ginger lemonade by our pool, something about it is just extra refreshing.
So let’s get right down to it shall we!
To make one pitcher, or about 48 oz. of homemade lemonade all you’ll need is:
Three Lemons
Two Limes
2 Tablespoons of agave syrup (feel free to add more)
& one half of a larger ginger root
Now that you have all the ingredients let’s jump right in to making the homemade lemonade!
Overall it takes about 30 min to make, soooooo I would recommend making it the night before, just so it has extra time to chill.
Okay let’s get to it….
Grab six cups of water and bring them to a boil.
Once the water is boiling throw in your ginger. I would recommend cutting the half into slices & spreading them out. Turn off the heat & just let your ginger steep in the hot water, for about 30 minutes.
Once your ginger water is done steeping add the two tablespoons of agave into the water, then stir.
Next grab your pitcher & squeeze your three lemons & two limes into the pitcher. I like the lemon-lime combo, but if you just want to stick to lemonades then I would recommend squeezing one extra lemon.
Finally throw your ginger water into the pitcher & stir. Place your pitcher in the fridge and let it chill out.
Once cooled top the homemade lemonade off with some lemons & limes. I like my lemonade on the bitter side, so test out the lemonade & add more agave if needed.
