I have always been a huge sparkling water gal. I usually drink it all day long, and I completely prefer it over water because it’s way more fun!
Anyway usually I just add some lemon slices to my sparkling water and call it a day. But recently I’ve been getting bored with the taste so I’ve been adding a few more ingredients to my sparkling water; and ending up with a drink that is the definition of a refreshing tall glass of water.
Okay let’s get mixing! So what you’ll need to create this lime-mint spritzer is:
one lime
a handful of mint
a large bottle of sparkling water (try to buy this sodium free!)
& for those crazy few, let’s add a splash of sparkling lemonade (literally my favorite summer drink).
Okay, grab two cups and fill them with ice because it’s time to start making those spritzers.
Start off first by crushing a large handful of mint & throwing it into your cup. Follow that up by squeeze the juice of one half of a lime straight into your cup. I love citrus so the more the better!
Next pour a generous splash of sparkling lemonade into the bottom of your cup. I love sparkling lemonade and you can usually find a bottle at Whole Foods (they have everything).
Finally fill your cup to the rim with that delicious and hydrant sparkling water! You can use any brand you want for this, just try to make sure the water is sodium free.
Yum! I just left my desk in the middle of writing this blog post to make my own spritzer, these photos were making me thirsty!
Basically this drink is a Virgin Mojito! It has all the great taste of a mojito but without all those harsh calories coming your way. I’ll be honest, I’m not a big drinker, it just doesn’t do anything for me. But that doesn’t mean I don’t like fun drinks.
So whenever I go to a bar and just want a drink, I always ask for them to surprise me with any spritzer they like. Bartenders are pretty creative people, and they have a bar filled with fresh ingredients and a large selection of juices.
That’s actually how I ended up with this spritzer drink recipe!
I hope you guys give the drink a try & cheers! xx A.
