Happy Monday guys! Today I’m sitting down and talking to you all about something I’m really passionate about right now…visor hats. Now, this post is no joke, in fact, I pushed back another post in order to get my passion for stylish visors hats for the beach out there and into the universe. My face doesn’t do too hot in the sun, which is why I’ve always been obsessed with baseball hats. Personally, my face goes from the cute sun-freckled face to a crispy peeling burn very quickly and I’m constantly looking for new ways to protect my face, neck, and chest. Sometimes I sport the stylish beach towel made into a scarf look but in March when I started to see visor hats slowly growing traction on the retail floors, I quickly decided I’d test them out.
In fact, it was the perfect timing, I could test out the new visor trend for you all pre-summer while in Costa Rica and bring back some feedback. So I went to a few different retailers and ended up buying a total of three visors in all different styles and price points. Now, when I first pulled this visor out of the shopping bag Matt had comments left and right. I may have gotten a few bingo jokes, maybe a handful of shuffleboard puns and a large dosage of Florida gags but that didn’t stop me. As I said above I’m pretty anti-sunning when it comes to my face, neck, shoulders, and chest and my Mom’s always been big on sun protection. It only took me suffering from a wicked sunburn on my feet, a few summers back, to get me obsessed with sun protection and hydration.
Basically, when it comes to sun protection a visor trumps the classic baseball hat any day, especially when on vacation. Not only can you use it to capture the perfect 60’s palm beach aesthetic you’ve always been hoping for, but you also get so much more protection from the sun. The visor not only covers your face from the sun but also your neck, shoulders, and chest! When I headed to the beach during the sunniest part of the day I always brought my large visor but for quick trips to the beach, I packed this retro-styled one. And guess what, between the three visors my face never got burnt once!
I’d love to hear from you guys. Do you think you could pull off a visor or would want to? I mean I’m all for it and if you do go out and buy a visor make sure to tweet me a picture, so I can check out your retro style. On that note can you believe summer is almost here, I can’t wait to start hitting the New England coastline with my Jack Rogers and visors in hand. I hope to see you guys there! xx Aubrey
